A one-night-only concert was held at New York City’s Town Hall last fall, to celebrate the music of the Coen brothers film Inside Llewyn Davis. The evening was filmed for a documentary that was broadcast by Showtime last winter, and now Nonesuch Records has now released a live recording of the concert, Another Day, Another Time: Celebrating the Music of “Inside Llewyn Davis,” on January 13, 2015.

Gillian and David are featured on several tracks of the two-disc set. The track listing can be found on Nonesuch.com where the the CD/digital versions of the album can be ordered now. You can also buy the vinyl LP version of the live album by clicking here.

In a new interview on Salon.com, Gillian touches on the subject of tragedy in music today compared to the old folk tradition, how heartbreak influences her own writing, and what she appreciates about one of her favorite traditional ballads, “Barbara Allen.” Transcribed interview as told to Scott Timberg. Acony Records is excited to share with you a new artistic collaboration between Gillian & David and their longtime t-shirt and poster designer Peter Nevins. Over the years, Peter has collaborated with Gill & Dave on a series of t-shirt designs based on their songs “Look at Miss Ohio,” “Elvis Presley Blues,” and the latest, “Hard Times.” Now they have taken these one-color designs and turned them into gorgeous and bright 3-color letterpress prints. Hand made by Peter himself in Portland, OR, earlier this year, we are now selling them individually or as a set of 3 on the Acony Records Webstore. Prints are 12 3/8″ x 12 3/8″ on Forest Stewardship Council certified paperboard. They will arrive in a resealable polypropylene bag with an info sheet. Prints are $40 each or $100 as a set of three. They will be shipped immediately and can be shipped worldwide. We are also throwing in free shipping for US addresses on your whole order if any of the series are added to your cart.

We are also selling, for a very limited time, a set of all three prints, custom framed in our hometown of Nashville, TN, also shipped for free to a US address of your choice. Framed sets will ship at a later date, guaranteed to arrive in time for Christmas, and we will provide a tracking number for each shipment. Frames will be a 3/4″ custom made black matte frame with glass. For these reasons, we cannot offer the framed sets to addresses outside the US as we can’t guarantee safe arrival before Christmas at a reasonable price.

Click here to view the letterpress prints in the Acony Records Online Store, and feel free to browse the photo gallery below of Peter making the prints by hand!

In honor of the 50-year anniversary of Johnny Cash‘s ‘Bitter Tears: Ballads of the American Indian’ album, several artists have joined together to re-record the tracks as an all-star tribute album to the Man in Black.

Gillian and Dave contributed to 6 of the 11 tracks, including “As Long as the Grass Shall Grow” and “Apache Tears (Reprise).” Click here to read more about the project on Rollingstone.com.
