For those that live in Nashville, TN, an Epiphone Olympic belonging to Dave is on display at the Tennessee State Museum as part of a new free exhibition, The Guitar: An American Love Story. The collection of more than 150 guitars — dating from the early 1800s to the present day – run through December 30th. ABC’s new show Nashville has been featuring a lot of original music from local artists. In Episode 4, We Live In Two Different Worlds, the main character sings an unreleased track of Gillian’s called “Changing Ground.” Watch the clip below to hear the song.

ZZ Top’s new album, La Futura, features a cover of Gillian and Dave’s song “It Too Easy.” Appearing as track 9, the song is called “It’s Too Easy Mañana” on the new album, ZZ Top’s first in 9 years. “It’s Too Easy” was originally recorded by Gillian and Dave on the Dave Rawlings Machine album, A Friend of a Friend.

Acony Records is delighted to announce that Gillian and Dave took home two Americana Awards last night. The ceremony, held in Nashville, TN, at the Ryman Auditorium, featured live performances by Lifetime Achievement Award winners Booker T. Jones, Bonnie Raitt, and Richard Thompson. Dave won the Instrumentalist of the Year award, his first AMA, in a strong category featuring friends Buddy Miller, Darrell Scott, and Chris Thile. Gillian won Artist of the Year, the last award of the night. This marks the first AMA Award for either Gillian or Dave.

Gillian and Dave together have garnered 4 nominations for 2012 Americana Music Honors & Awards. They are nominated for Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, Duo/Group of the Year, and Dave for Instrumentalist of the Year. The Americana Awards will be held Sept. 12 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.
